Collection
Once the stallion's penis is washed, the semen collector positions themselves near the mount. Note that all personnel should be wearing head protection as in the images below. The stallion is allowed to mount either the jump mare or the phantom only if he has an erection. The penis is grasped with the right hand and directed into the AV which is held in the collector's left hand. Facing the rear of the stallion, the collector maintains the penis in the AV and lowers the AV during ejaculation so that the semen will not run out of the AV.
