Applied Anatomy of the Mare
Objective: The objectives of this laboratory are to:
- Understand the anatomy of the mare and how anatomy relates to function.
- Perform a breeding soundness exam of a mare.
Before continuing with the lab, be sure to review the lectures on Anatomy of the Mare and Reproductive Soundness Exams (female).
Terminology: There is some terminology that we must get straight in order to communicate effectively.
- Lognitudinal - a cut extending along the major or long axis of the body

- Breeding soundness: Conduct a breeding soundness exam on a mare.
