A record sheet containing the stallion's name, date of collection, semen parameters, extender and antibiotics used, and insemination dose volume is included with the shipment. In this example the information on the semen dose is inside the Equitainer. It can however also be taped to the outside of the container in an envelope.

The Equitainer is closed so that cooling can begin. The carrier can be opened for < 2 minutes if needed without affecting the cooling rate or holding temperature (manufacturer specifications) .
