Cold Shock

Once you have decided an ejaculate is suitable for cooling, you will dilute the semen with an extender and cool the semen to 5°C for up to 48 hours of storage. If semen is cooled too quickly, the semen is damaged and the motility is abnormal. This condition is referred to as cold shock and is demonstrated in the video by the sperm swimming slowly and moving in circles.
