Chronic Endometritis
Mares with chronic endometritis can have a wide range of degenerative changes including scar tissue, fibrosis and glandular degenerative changes. There is no know treatment for the fibrosis or scar tissue. The amount of fibrosis or scar tissue is directly related to fertility. Successful treatment of these mares is very difficult and the prognosis for fertility is poor.
