Effect of Season on Sperm Production
Seasonal
changes in testosterone effect sperm production in the stallion. As can
be seen, sperm production peaks in stallions under natural light during
July. Note that this is approximately 30 - 60 days after testosterone levels
peaked. Although a stallion can produce sperm during the winter, the amount
of sperm is reduced.
