Semen Collection

Now that you can assemble an AV, you are ready to learn how to collect a stallion. The most important thing to remember when collecting a stallion is SAFETY and Communication. Stallions are large and can be unpredicatable. You must always be paying attention to what is happening around you and learn to anticipate what the stallion will do.

Safety:

Equipment: Helmets, appropriate footware & clothing, Stud chain (even if he's a kitten all the time)

Surroundings: Safe place for tease mare, Phantom securely attached and at correct height with good footing, the fewer distractions the better

Personnel: Anyone in the collection area should be confident around stallions, calm in a crisis (they will occur even with the best planning!) and patient
