Estrus Detection
Estrus is a particular behavior of the mare when exposured to a stallion. The best approach to detection of estrus would involve:
- Tease mares on a daily or every other day basis
- Mare checked for estrus with at least 2 different stallions (mares can react differently to different stallions!)
- Allow some physical contact between mare and stallion (not mounting by the stallion)
