Thawing Frozen Semen

  1. Thaw straws in 37-39°C water for 30 seconds
    Thaw straws in thermos at 37-39°C

  2. Dilute sufficient straws to yield 800 X 10^6 sperm to 10 ml with any cooled semen extender such as INRA-96 (IMV), Equi-Pro (Minitube) or Eazi-Mixin.
    1. The extender should be the same temperature as semen
    2. Inseminate dose is 800 x 10^6 sperm
  3. Save a tiny amount of semen to evaluate motility and quality of semen
  4. Inseminate
