Hormone Manipulation: Case 1

After breeding your mare with the fresh semen you schedule an ultrasound to check for pregnancy 16 days later. Your veterinarian did ultrasound the mare on March 17. Congratulations, the mare is pregnant but the veterinarian does find 2 embryonic vesicles (this means 2 embryos or twins). Is this good or bad observation in terms of a positive reproductive outcome (birth of live foals)? We will be talking about this latter during the lecture on detection of pregnancy but consider it now from your own experience.
