Whoops, you missed your big chance. The mare should come into heat 2-6 days after the second PGF2a shot depending on the size of the follicles on the ovary. Ovulation would occur in 5-7 days after the begining of estrus. If you can only get semen between June 5 - 9 then each of the following would be true.

May 15 & 28 :

• Ovulation around June 3
• Ovulation is TOO EARLY for our needs
• oocyte ages prior to insemination, fertilization needs to occur within 12 hours of ovulation

May 25 & June 7

• Ovulation around June 13
• Ovulation is TOO LATE for our needs
• semen does not survive long enough in female reproductive tract, fresh semen only lives for 24 - 48 hours and therefore dies prior to ovulation
