Oviduct

oviduct image oviduct image magnified

F. Now locate the oviducts which lie beyond the uterine horns and adjacent to the ovaries. Note that there are 2 oviducts, one on each side of the tract. Each oviduct is composed of the: isthmus, ampulla, infundibulum, and ostium

The surface of the infundibulum is covered with the fimbria but they can not be resolved at this level of magnification. They capture the oocyte at ovulation and transport it to the ostium, the openning into the oviduct. The junction with the uterus and oviduct is the uterotubal junction and the oviduct is supported by the mesosalpinx. Note that the oviduct was carefully spread out so that you could see all the structures.

Try spreading the infundibulum over the surface of the ovary. At ovulation the oocyte is picked up by the fimbria on the infundibulum and directed into the ostium.
