Uterus
Examine the slide of the mouse uterus using
a low power objective (4 or 10 X). Identify the perimetrium, myometrium and endometrium.
Note how wide the endometrium is and the presence of endometrial
glands. These glands are coiled and make contact with the uterine
lumen to release components needed for early embryonic survival. The
degree of coiling changes with the estrous cycle and is dependent on
the amounts of estrogen and progesterone in circulation. Now answer some
questions regarding the female histology slides.
