Complete These Activities Before Coming to Laboratory
- You should have already read Chapter 1 (structure of the textbook and history of reproductive physiology) and 2 (female anatomy) in the text, listened to lecture 1 and 2 on-line, taking notes of the lecture either on the slide handouts or ppt files. An additional short review of female anatomy can be found in the lecture 1 handout material, Functional Anatomy of the Female Reproductive Tract. You should not be trying to learn the terminology in lab, do this prior to class.
- View the videos on reproductive anatomy of the cow (Cow I and II), sow (Sow I and II) and mare (Mare 1 and II) found in the class website under videos/female anatomy. You can also view the videos in Kaltura at: (Cow 1, Cow 2, Sow 1, Sow 2, Mare 1 and Mare 2). The videos are from Oklahoma State University, Dr. Rod Geisert. These are an excellent way in which to prepare for the dissection you will be doing. The Kaltura option should work on all browsers if the first links do not on your browser.
- In class you will work in groups for the live lab of 3 or 4 students. You will be assigned to room 134 or 128 Animal Sciences for the live lab. Check outside the room to see if you are in this room. Enter the room and choose a seat.
- For the online lab, you work by yourself to complete the lab.
- Both live and online lab sections turn in the standard summary lab activity individually as you did in week 0.
