Welcome Students and Friends
My name is Liv (pronounced leeve) Sandberg. I am the new Equine Extension Specialist with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My primary responsibilities include Youth Equine activities, developing an Adult Extension program and teaching the Equine Science Management course (AnSci 250) during the Spring semester.
A little "bit" about myself: I received my B. S. in Animal Sciences from Montana State University with an emphasis in Equine and Beef Management. Following several years working in the horse industry, I returned to school to further my education at Iowa State University (ISU), completing a Masters of Science degree in Animal Science - Nutritional Physiology, with an emphasis in Equine Exercise Physiology. After a brief stay at ISU lecturing and assisting with youth equine extension activities, I pursued an equine teaching career at North Carolina State University. Having gained valuable experience teaching a variety of equine related topics and managing the Equine Educational Unit, I hope to continue to learn and to share my knowledge via teaching efforts through adult and extension activities as well as in the college classroom. I look forward to meeting and working with the people in the state and the students in the department. If you have specific questions related to health care of you horse or Equine events you would like me to share, please feel free to contact me.
