Driving Directions and Parking Information
FROM THE WEST - Richland Center, Mazomanie, Black Earth Areas
From US Highway 14
US HWY 14 becomes University Ave.
Turn Left onto Walnut Street
Turn Right onto Observatory Drive.
* Follow detour signs during contruction
FROM US Hwy 12: From Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells areas
1. At the junction of US 12 and US 14 exit to University Ave and turn right on University Ave
2. Stay on University Ave, you will enter Madison city limits
After passing Hilldale Shopping Center on your right, be aware that the road will split after about 10 blocks
At the split you must be in the far right lane.3. Continue in the far right lane, you should still be on University Ave.
(If you see railroad tracks to your left and you drive under a walking bridge you are on CAMPUS DRIVE, the WRONG road, at the first light turn right onto University Ave, at the next light you will see the Open Pantry Station, turn right and go to step 6)4. Continue on University Ave at the first light (intersection of Highland Ave)
5. Turn left at the second light on to Walnut St (you will see an Open Pantry Gas Station on the corner of the intersection)
6. Continue on Walnut St until you reach the first light (intersection of Walnut and Observatory Drive)
7. Turn right on to Observatory Drive
8. Follow the signs during construction to Observatory Drive.
FROM The EAST
From Interstate 90 or 94 or 90,94: at the junction of 90 and 94 exit to US 30 East
OR
From US 151 exit onto Aberg Ave west:
1. Continue on 30 (Aberg Ave) at the junction of US 113 (Pennsylvania Ave) turn left on to Pennsylvania Ave near the Oscar Meyer plant
2. Continue on 113, Pennsylvania will turn into E. Johnson and then into Gorham DO NOT TURN
3. Gorham will turn into University Ave DO NOT TURN, stay on the same road
(you will pass through the intersection of Park St and University)5. Turn right on Charter St and continue up the hill.
6. Turn left on to Observatory Drive.
7. Continue on Observatory through the first stop sign (Babcock Drive and Observatory)
8. Turn left 1/2 block before the next intersection at Observatory and Elm. You will be at the entrance of Lot 36. Metered parking is available on the upper level of the ramp.
FROM THE SOUTH
From 18/151 north Mount Horeb, Argyle, Pardeeville:
1. Exit to Midvale Blvd and remain in the right hand lane.
2. Turn right on to University Ave, be aware that the road will split after about 10 blocks At the split you must be in the far right lane.
3. Continue in the far right lane, you should still be on University Ave.

Continue on University Ave at the first light (intersection of Highland Ave)

6. Continue on Walnut St until you reach the first light (intersection of walnut and Observatory Drive)
7. Turn right on to Observatory Drive
8. Follow Detour signs during contruction to Observatory Drive.
Directions to the Animal Sciences Building from on Campus (View Campus Map)
FROM UW-HOSPITAL, FORREST PRODUCTS LAB and WARF
1. Take the #80 bus to the corner of Observatory Drive and Linden Drive. Get off in front of the Agricultural Engineering Lab. Animal Sciences is directly across the street. To find the ISIS Training Room, enter the building on the Linden Drive entrance, turn right at the first hall way, Room 204 is on your right.
FROM EAST CAMPUS
1. Take the #80 going west to UW-Hospital or Eagle Heights. Get off at Steenbock Library (Observatory Drive and Babcock Drive) and walk 3/4 of a block west on Observatory Dr. The main entrance is on Observatory Dr. facing the open field. You may also get off in front of Agricultural Engineering Lab. The Animal Sciences Building is diagonally across the street from this bus stop.
FROM SOUTH CAMPUS

Parking
Parking on campus is very limited and highly regulated by the Transportation Services office. Metered parking is available on the top level of Russell Labs parking ramp (Lot 36) or a few blocks away in the Seeds Lot (43). The campus bus makes frequent stops near the building and is a free service. Faculty with visitors may arrange for a parking permit from the Department Office in Room 260. Additional hourly parking is also available in the city State Street or Frances Street Ramps.
